Dear Lord Donoughmore,
In reference to my letter of November 5th. and your reply
of the following day, one of the steps necessary to give effect
to the wishes of the Lord Mayor in respect of the decisions
reached at the last meeting of the Executive Committee of the
Fund for the Relief of Distress in China is that I should resign
from the Honorary Secretaryship which it was at that meeting
agreed that I ahould assume. I write accordingly formally to
tender my resignation.

of the Executive Committee to be held on Thursday next.

I should like to have your permission to send a copy of this
letter to the Lord Mayor.
